Our first nine years were not always peaceful and perfect due to outside interference.

We loved each other so much that even the best laid plan of attack by those who were jealous of our love failed in the end.

All it took to restore our happiness was time together.

When we were alone there was never a single word spoken that was anything but loving.

It was not of our own doing that let it into our world, as something that was sinister was always gnawing at my Teresa.

Whispering evil into her ears from some she was supposed to be able to trust.

Things like, "The only reason he works is to have girlfriends." or "He puts that money away like its gold, you should make him give some to me." or "Why don't he spend ever day all day with you, work is his way of leaving you."

I worked for what we had though it wasn't the best, it was ours, they used my desire to better our lives as weapon against her.

That was what drove the darkness to come for us and do everything in its power to hurt her.

They tried many tactics like having her spend time away from me with a friend who drank, and had others come over drunk.  The one man who did try something on her made her see the light of day before she ever told me about it.  They lured her with lies, placed her into a bad spot and then tried to call me and rub it in my face what happened.  The numbness in their brains goes beyond evil, they were soulless predators like wolves hungry for a feast of flesh but none of it worked.  No matter what fancy trumped up dish they served, our hearts ruled over each of us but together.  

They knew I was not under any spell or misconception, I recognized what was going on.  Hurting me with physical threats or violence wouldn't work.  Mind games on me were useless and spreading rumors behind our backs did not even phase me. 

So the only way to hurt me was to hurt my Teresa and they tried many times in many ways.

But like I said, all it took was for the two of us to go to the lake and talk, drive to Cades Cove and walk or just slip away for a quiet ride into the countryside.   Together where we could feel each other and our mutual hearts she realized easily she had been lied to, cheated or in some cases used for their evil.

That is what love is truly about if you think about it.   When you trust the one you love then you know what the truth is before you even ask it.   Once you know that, you can find the solution to the problem.   That is what we did best, forgive each other and love each other fully.
